In 2022, Samson was elected as Mayor of North Lauderdale, becoming the first Haitian, Black, and Caribbean-American to hold this office. His vision as Mayor is centered on redeveloping the city and building a vibrant downtown center to give North Lauderdale a new identity and attract businesses, residents, and opportunities.
His goal is to achieve entitlement city status by reaching a 50,000 population milestone, enabling the city to leverage federal resources to fund critical redevelopment projects and improve quality of life for residents.
